To elevate the look you can try to find a top with an off the shoulder neckline reminiscent of Belle's iconic ballroom dress. Also, to stick with the theme of the ballroom dress, including some ruffles or ruching could elevate the outfit.
For cold weather, you can still go all yellow or do a yellow top and blue jeans. For the outfit on the left, I tried to capture the academic and sophisticated vibe I associate with the character. For the outfit on the left, I continued the ideas from the elevated outfits, off the shoulder and ruched outfit reminiscent of the ballroom dress.
Now, the fun part, the accessories! In the ballroom scene, Belle's hair has a yellow ribbon in it, so I would recommend something like a yellow headband, or bow, or scrunchie. Throughout the movie roses are a reoccurring motif and viral to the plot. So, I included a rose bag, some jewelry, and a hair accessory. Foe a bag, there are a variety of options form a simple yellow bag, to one with some beautiful yellow flowers, to a straw bag, perfect for roaming a french countryside and small french town. And to finish the look from your head to your toes, I prepose some fun yellow shoes.
Like a good book that gets better every chapter, adding these extra little details can bring your look to the next level! I found some accessories with Cogsworth and Lumiere as well as a beautiful necklace that looks like a rose behind glass. As Belle is known for her love of books, I included some bags and a necklace to showcase some. Throughout the movie, some beautiful stain glass is featured, so I included some accessories that look like that stain glass. And, of course I included some Minnie Ears and direct references to the character. Many of the extra details were made by independent creators, so its a great way to shop small and look adorable!
I kept it pretty similar to the rest of the blog post as far as the bathing suits, stick with yellow and ruffles. I am particularly fond of the off the shoulder bikini, I just think it's really cute and could be a good example of the character. I also included this adorable coverup with roses on it, a reference to all the roses in the film.
Graphic tee's are always a fun option, there are so many different and custom shirts out there that you can get one you really love and will enjoy wearing after. The top on the left had references to the film and when paired with the shorts looks quite academic. The shirt on the right is more fun and the creator has made similar ones for other character, so it could be super fun to wear with a group of friends. To keep it simple I styled it with a classic pleated yellow skirt.
I chose all yellow for the jackets and dresses, though a variety of colors work. My favorite of the dresses it the floor length, flower, off the shoulder dress because I feel like it would be perfect for twirling around in a grass field like Belle does at the beginning of the film. The jackets are both very nice, though they have very different vibes. The dress on the right is very simple, I think that makes it a great option for wearing again afterwords!
For mens clothing, I tried to find yellow for both the tops and bottom. However, it is still a good option to wear blue jeans, especially since it is harder to find yellow pants in mens sizes. If you could find anything with roses on it, it would also work, but it again may be harder to find.
No matter how much money you are want to spend you can still get a spectacular Disneybound! The less expensive outfit on the left costs $35, and it is a very elegant Disneybound that brings Belle's ballgown look to life! The more expensive outfit on the right costs $158 and is a super fun look to wear to the parks, covered in character merch.
