Moana Disneyboud

Let's see how far this disneybound can go!

Basic (B):

For the basics I kept it pretty simple, red on the top and tan on the bottom. I wanted to include a top that was strapless, because it would be more accurate to the film, as well as one that had some for wearability sake.

Elevated (E):

To elevate the look, I tried to find both tops and bottoms that looked more like they were rapped or had layers. Both of the tops are still red, but the bows, rushing, and ruffles all make them look a bit more like the movie. In a similar manner, the bottoms are still tan, but I tried to find ruffles and layers to look more like her layered reed skirt.

Cold Weather (C):

For cold weather, you're still gonna try to keep red on top and tan on the bottom. To accommodate the colder weather, you're probably gonna want something with more coverage than a tube top, but I still wanted to find an off the shoulder top to be reminiscent of it. For the outfit on the right, I decided to focus more on the bottom than the top. Though the fit of the skirt isn't exactly the same as Moana's, the pattens add an element thats similar to her skirt.

Accessories (A):

Considering hoe important a necklace is to the plot of the movie, I am super excited to talk about the accessories! Though the character doesn't wear shoes, I included a variety of tan shoe options. Moana wears the heart of Tefiti in a necklace, so a blue necklace of any sort could be a great choice. Seashells and the ocean are both motifs throughout the movie, so they would make good editions to the look. As she is a girl who loves her island as well as the sea, I included tropical hair accessories and a necklace. She has gorgeous flowing black hair, so I included some black headbands. The straw bags are a perfect addition to a tropical look, and the circular ones even look a bit like shells. And because she wears a red sash, there is a red belt!

Extra Little Things (EX):

Let's make ourselves a work or art like Tamatoa or Maui with these extra little touches! One of the best parts about Moana is her animal sidekicks, so I included both Pua and Hei Hei bags, as well as one of them all together. If you really want to look like the character, I included a red sash similar to hers. As always, I had some fun Moana themed tech supplies. Similarly, its always good to included some character specific jewelry, especially Moana's necklace! We have some tropical themed accessories as well. Last, for the hair, I included some Moana ears and a bow. But, possibly my favorite thing I found is this beautiful floral crown that looks just like the movie! This flower crown and many other of the extra little things were made by independent creators, so its a great way to shop small and look adorable!

Bathing Suits (BS):

yo Since this movie spends so much time around the water, bathing suits are an essential section! I chose to do red for the bathing suit and tan for the coverups because I felt it gave the most similar appearance to the character. I feel this especially evident if you look at the bikini and skirt combination on the right. To finish off the outfits we have some tan flip flops and this cute Moana beach bag!

Graphic Tees (GT):

Graphic tee's are always a fun option, there are so many different and custom shirts out there that you can get one you really love and will enjoy wearing after. The shirt on the left is the same brand I have used in the past, and I always think is a fun option for wearing to the park cause the creator made a lot of different characters so it could be fin to do in a group. For the shirt on the left, I like the reference to the amazing songs in the film, and paired with these tan shorts, it keeps the same colors as most of the Disneybounds on this post.

Dresses and Jackets (DJ):

To be completely honest, I would not suggest going this route. I tried my best to come up with dresses and jackets that I thought could fir the character colors or vibe, but none of them do an amazing job communicating the character. The tan dress on the left feels like something that could easily be worn to a party on the beach and I paired it with a red jacket to keep the color story. The tan dress in the middle gives more boho beach vibes, so I think it could possibly work for the character. And, to represent the sash at her waist I included this red shall.

Mens (M):

For mens clothing, I found a variety of red tops and tan bottoms, as well as a pair of tan swim trunks and shoes. I think some ways to increase the effectiveness of this Disneybound would be to find a Hawaiian short instead of a solid colored shirt, or maybe just iron on a patch of a palm tree. Finding some tropical, island themed, or ocean themed accessories could also make the character more recognizable.

$ vs. SSS:

You can get a magical Disneyboud no matter how much money you want to spenf on your Disneybound! The less expensive outfit on the left costs $36, it is super simple, beach-ey, and fun! The more expensive outfit on the right costs $ 153 and uses a lot of specific character details that will make you look like you just walked out of the movie.

No matter how you go about it, remember to have fun! So get out there and let's Disnyboud it!
