Ariel Disneyboud

For our first Disneyboud let's go Under the Sea!

Basic (B):

For the basics I kept it pretty simple, purple on the top and green on the bottom.

Elevated (E):

To elevate the look I tried to focus a lot more on the material and shape of the outfits. To emulate the seashell bra Ariel wears I chose tops that had sweetheart necklines or just clearly defined cups. For the bottoms, chose shiny materials because of her mermaid tail always being kinda sparkly. Also, having a tight skirt or one that flairs at the bottom is also reminiscent of her iconic tail.

Cold Weather (C):

Cold weather follows most of the same tenants as elevated, just with longer sleeves and more of the legs covered. For a skirt outfit, I would again try to go with a skirt that is tight or one that flairs at the bottom to imitate Ariel's mermaid tail. With the pants outfit, try to focus on getting a top that has a sweetheart neckline or clearly defined cups to imitate her seashell bra.

Accessories (A):

The accessories are where it starts to get fun! Red hair accessories or head bands are there to represent Ariels flowing red hair. Seashells are a great way to keep that beaches mermaid feel. So, I include lots of seashell jewelry as well as different styled purses. And to finish the look from your head to your toes, include some green shoes.

Extra Little Things (EX):

Let'g get into what dinglehoppers you could add to your outfit to make it over the top amazing! I included bags, shoes, electronics, and even earrings with The Little Mermaid characters on it. I included some fork jewelry as a references to the fork Ariel uses to comb her hair in the film and one that's bent into tentacles as a nod to Ursula. Along with that, there is also a glowing seashell necklace like the one that traps Ariel's voice. And of course, I had to include some Minnie ears. Though the purple seashell pair is the only one that is official Disney merchandise, the other two ears and the ear holder are all made by independent creators and are also super adorable!.

Bathing Suits (BS):

Here is the category that inspired this whole blog! I found this amazing purple seashell top and everything else just followed after! To pair with that top (or one similar), you can always just go with green bottoms, but I also found a green pair that had texture that reminded me somewhat of mermaid scales. I found this beautiful purple one piece purple swimsuit and paired it with this green coverup that reminded me of the ocean.

Graphic Tees (GT):

Sometimes its nice to just get a graphic tee that you can easily style and wear again. The purple top of the left is super cute and has many fun references to the movie. I styled it with a green skirt to keep with the classic purple top green bottom color palette. The shirt on the right is a little more standout and seems to be made specifically for someone visiting Disney, so I found this super shiny and scaled skirt that feels like it was made for bringing a mermaid to life.

Dresses and Jackets (DJ):

Personally, I wouldn't chose to style Ariel with a dress, but I still wanted to provide some options. The jacket of the left has a texture that could be reminiscent of a mermaid tail and the outfit on the right keeps with the classic purple on the top and green on the bottom.

Mens (M):

Though I personally am female bodied and dress in a more traditionally feminine style, I know that doesn't fit for everyone, so here are some options of clothing from the mens section. I kept it the simple purple top and green shorts to be most recognizable as the character for all of the outfits.

$ vs. SSS:

No matter how much money you are willing to spend you can still get an amazing Disney-bound. The cheeper outfit on the left costs $35 but is still able to clearly communicate the character and has some fun accessories. The more expensive outfit on the right costs $170 and is absolutely decked out, dripping Ariel from head to tail.

No matter how you go about it, remember to have fun! So get out there and let's Disnyboud it!
